Norma's Welcome

 

Thank you for visiting my page. I am honored you have taken the time to learn about me and why I am proud to serve you on the WUSD School Board.

 

I was raised in Broderick-Bryte where five generations of my family have lived and where I live today.  As the director of a youth mentor program in Bryte serving over 400 students, I know the critical role schools play in keeping students on the right path.  As a tireless community volunteer, I am committed to fighting for a better life for our children.  

 

Schools are the heart of our community. To be successful in school, all children need the head start universal pre-school can provide, and all children need the solid 3Rs of basic education.  But in today's world and environment that just no longer enough.  We need the foresight include and provide our students with:

 

• School programs that provide Career Technology and Education (CTE) job training.

• Enhanced parent communication

• Professional development for their teachers to enhance teaching effectiveness

 

I am a business owner, former California Legislative staffer, and former Yolo County Grand Juror. I look forward to serving you as a reasonable, reliable, trustworthy, and accessible school trustee.
